Appt Update

Soooooooooo the little cutie pie below had a good doctor's appt this month at TCH. He was scheduled to have his hearing test done with a sedation, but since he is older they tried to do something a little different beforehand. He did so well with those test he didn't have to be sedated for the test we were originally scheduled for which is great. To sum it up his hearing has not changed since his last observation this time last year. Good news! The reason I say that is there is always the possibility his hearing could get worse with this disorder. So we continue to pray it will stay the same, unless it got better and that would be a miracle! :) They were also able to test him with his hearing aids on which was a change from the last time, it was neat to see what level he it at when he wears them. With his hearing aids he hears at about 30 db (decibels), and without the hearing aids he is at about 65-70 db. On average most people who have "good" hearing are about 20-25 db... so that's gives you an idea of where he is at. The decibel (abbreviated dB) is the unit used to measure the intensity of a sound. He wasn't crazy about the idea at first because they have to put these things in your ears and wires are attached to them. But he finally got comfortable and we were able to do it. He also had some blood work done and was champ for that. The main thing they are checking for is his Vitamin K levels. The doctor thinks this may have something to do with his nosebleeds. Since he was a good boy daddy took him to the gift shop and he picked out a neat tractor set. We really have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. Cole has amazed us all with his progress and determination. We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!! Gobble Gobble and Football Football!
